On August 5th, Allen Sunrise Rotary Club had the privilege of hosting Head Coach Lee Wiginton as he shared a sneak peek into the upcoming Allen Eagles football season. Coach Wiginton, who joined Allen High School in 2022 after a distinguished career spanning more than three decades and over 180 wins, brought his signature passion for leadership and character-building to the meeting. He reflected on an intense summer of conditioning and praised the team’s stellar summer performance, which was punctuated by a seven-on-seven summer league run that culminated in an impressive runner-up finish at the Texas 7-on-7 State Tournament.
Looking ahead to the new campaign, Coach Wiginton offered an encouraging outlook for the program as they build on recent deep playoff runs. He highlighted the mix of core leadership returning to both sides of the ball alongside dynamic varsity newcomers stepping into key roles. 
With the community rally behind them and summer preparations complete, Coach Wiginton left Rotarians energized and ready to support the Eagles as they head back onto the gridiron under the Friday night lights.
